Twenty Old Bailey Becomes Chemical-Free with IWTM-UK

Twenty Old Bailey is the latest landmark London building to adopt chemical-free water treatment (CFWT) with IWTM-UK technology.

Specified by Focus FM, project managed by Jones FM, and installed by Dunamis Heating & Mechanical Services Ltd, the transition was carried out under the instruction and guidance of Helix, a Hines company. The move removes chemicals from the building’s heating and cooling systems, helping enhance environmental performance while reducing COSHH risks on site.

The Solution

IWTM-UK installed Protector® P45 units on the LTHW and CWS systems along with a ProFill demineralised filling device.

  • Protector® units use advanced electrochemistry and sacrificial magnesium anodes to remove oxygen, control pH, and reduce conductivity.
  • ProFill units produce low-salt, alkaline water with minimal dissolved oxygen, supporting long-term system stability.

The Protector® P45 units also feature BMS connectivity, providing early alerts for resin expiry, filter cleaning, and anode condition, helping facilities teams maintain optimal system performance.

Key Benefits

  • Removal of chemicals from heating and cooling systems
  • Reduced COSHH handling and storage risks
  • Improved system reliability and water quality
  • Support for the building’s environmental objectives
